Antique Faux-Poker Work Vanity Set, ca. 1920s. Box
measures 10”L x 5-3/4”W x 4”H, brush measures 8-5/8”L
x 2-3/4”W, mirror measures 8-5/8”L x 4-1/2”W, lined in
what appears to be original yellow fabric. Handles and
edging are brass and feature gorgeous Art Nouveau
detailing, while back faces are metal with morning glory
florals. Box is original, made to look like poker work, but
upon ‘feeling’ the surface it becomes obvious that paint
and glaze were used to achieve the effect. Lid top is
handpainted with pink and green florals to complement
the brush and mirror inside. Brass hinges and
estrucheon. A beauty set.
