Antique French Majolica Asparagus Plate, ca. 1920s. 9”D. Impressed with the manufacturer’s name ORCHIES and their trademark windmill. Absolutely gorgeous plate with center presentation of seven white asparagus stalks with purple tips, set against an turquoise center well to each side. The taupe brown edging is beautiful detailed with shell/scroll motif. Typical crazing of glaze consistent with age, plus a tad of rim roughness, otherwise excellent.
